Basketball Game Preview: Monterey Plainsmen vs. Tascosa Rebels

The Monterey Plainsmen will take on the Tascosa Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Monterey is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 79-45 victory over Lubbock. Given the Plainsmen's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Westerners are ranked 792nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tascosa humbled Lubbock with a 61-26 victory.

Tascosa pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Monterey, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-15 record this season.
