Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Evangelical Christian on Friday, Trinity Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Lions took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jackson South Side Hawks on Saturday. The matchup was a 20-20 toss-up at halftime, but the Lions couldn't quite close it out.

Leading Jackson South Side to victory were Ri'Kiya Mitchell and Aydison Dilworth. Mitchell dropped a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Dilworth dropped a double-double with 15 points and ten boards. The dominant performance also gave Mitchell a new career-high in steals (eight). Another player making a difference was Zandria Cohill, who posted two points and five steals.

Trinity Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Jackson South Side, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Trinity Christian Academy will take on Manassas in a tournament on Friday. As for Jackson South Side, they are taking a road trip to square off against Jackson Central Merry at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
