Basketball Game Preview: Heights Bulldogs vs. Wisdom Generals

The Heights Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Wisdom Generals at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Heights had to take the L. They fell 50-41 to Westside on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wolves: they've now lost five in a row.

Heights' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mira Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards, and Jazmyne Gilbert, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards. Gilbert is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played.

Meanwhile, Wisdom was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a hard 39-22 fall against Cesar E. Chavez. One positive for the Generals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Heights' loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Wisdom, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Heights strolled past Wisdom in their previous matchup back in November of 2024 by a score of 33-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heights since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
