Basketball Recap: Daniel Pitts' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Twiggs County over Hancock Central

Twiggs County was the 53-46 winner over Hancock Central when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Twiggs County Cobras took a 65-46 bruising from the Hancock Central Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Cobras have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Cobras players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daniel Pitts, who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rikenzil Jenkins, who put up 13 points.

Dontriel Grable had an outrageously good game for Hancock Central as he made all 6 shots he took for 22 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Grable a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Josiah Ingram, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Twiggs County's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hancock Central, their record now sits at 5-7.

Twiggs County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-48 defeat against Wilkinson County on the 10th. As for Hancock Central, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 74-33 win against Glascock County on the 9th.
