O'Connor had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Holland Hall Dutch 3-1.

Mark Zaddack looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, O'Connor's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Abel Garcia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

O'Connor's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Holland Hall, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Coming up, O'Connor will challenge Castle View at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holland Hall, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-2 loss against Willow Canyon on the 17th.
