Basketball Game Preview: Cameron Dragons vs. River Pilots

Cameron hasn't had much luck against River recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Pilots at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-18, which was the final score in Cameron's tilt against Frontier on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dragons came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 115th in West Virginia, while the Cougars are ranked 385th in Ohio).

Meanwhile, River came up short against Shadyside on Friday and fell 56-44.

River's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Cameron, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Cameron was dealt a bruising 61-26 loss at the hands of River in their previous matchup back in December of 2025. Can the Dragons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
