Volleyball Recap: Amyah King Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Rogers

Lima Senior's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Rogers Rams with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won three in a row.

Lima Senior's got stronger as the match went on, holding Rogers to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-9, 25-6.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lima Senior to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amyah King, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces gave King a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alisandra Vanmeter, who had seven digs and three aces.

Lima Senior's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Rogers, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lima Senior will take on Upper Scioto Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rogers, they will be playing at home against Waite at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
