Softball Recap: Rolling Meadows Takes a Loss

Wheeling hit Rolling Meadows with a five-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Iris Jordan was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caylee Del Boccio made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Rolling Meadows' loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Wheeling, their record is now 8-15.

Looking ahead, Rolling Meadows will head out on the road to take on Glenbrook South at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Wheeling, they will square off against Waukegan at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. The Wildcats are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
