Softball Recap: West Greene Has No Trouble Against University School

West Greene's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the University School Buccaneers as they made off with a 13-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Buffaloes considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Morgan Brown made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Alexis Cutshall and Hayley Arnold did most of the damage at the plate: Cutshall scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Arnold scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits Arnold has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Willett, who scored two runs while going 2-for-5.

West Greene's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for University School, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Looking ahead, West Greene will take on South Greene at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The Buffaloes will need to watch out since the Rebels have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for University School, they will square off against North Greene at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the Huskies have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches.
