Carlsbad waltzed into their match on Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against Francis Parker. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 on March 5th.

Carlsbad had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-21, 16-14.

Derek Bashford paced Carlsbad's offense, picking up 16 kills. Bashford got some help from Ben Sauerwine and his 32 assists. Bashford was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Carlsbad pushed their record up to 21-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Francis Parker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-5.

Carlsbad has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against St. Augustine on the 22nd. As for Francis Parker, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against La Costa Canyon on the 22nd.
