Volleyball Recap: Zoi Candelmo 24/48 and Lauren Neal 15/46 Secure Win for Windham

Windham won the last time they faced Sanford and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Spartans. The game was the first time the Eagles have beaten the Spartans on their court since October 3, 2019.

Windham not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Sanford between 18 and 21 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 25-18.

Windham was led to victory by Lauren Neal 15/46 and Zoi Candelmo 24/48. Neal 15/46 had 15 digs and two aces, while Candelmo 24/48 had six digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Candelmo 24/48 a new career-high.

Windham's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Sanford, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Windham will challenge Westbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sanford, they will square off against Deering at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
