Coronado has gone 6-1 against Clairemont recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Islanders will square off against the Chieftains at 7:00 p.m. Clairemont took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Coronado, who comes in off a win.

Coronado took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Mar Vista 63-7. That 56 point margin sets a new team best for the Islanders this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coronado to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack O'Sullivan, who threw for 276 yards and four TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. The Islanders' leading receiver Reese Pagon was O'Sullivan's top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Coronado proved: they limited Mar Vista to a paltry 3.5 yards per carry. The team can thank Chase Jenkins for the heroic effort on defense: he. Coronado didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.4.

Meanwhile, Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Canyon Hills and fell 28-0. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, the Chieftains' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Coronado now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Clairemont, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Coronado took their victory against Clairemont in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a conclusive 42-20 score. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Chieftains' Tyler Allen, who rushed for 174 yards and one score on only seven carries.
