Softball Recap: Bland County Bears vs. Eastern Montgomery Mustangs
Bland County was the 12-10 winner over Eastern Montgomery when they last played one another back in May of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Bland County Bears suffered a tough 22-5 defeat at the hands of the Eastern Montgomery Mustangs on Monday.
For Eastern Montgomery's part, they got a massive performance out of Macie Akers, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Artrip, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and a triple.
Bland County's loss dropped their record down to 0-2-2. As for Eastern Montgomery, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bland County will take on George Wythe at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. George Wythe will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Bland County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastern Montgomery, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Parry McCluer at 5:00 p.m.
