Recap: Pocomoke Warriors vs. Colonel Richardson Colonels

After flying high against the Crisfield Crabbers on Friday, the Pocomoke Warriors came back down to earth. Pocomoke took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Colonel Richardson. Pocomoke lost against Colonel Richardson in their previous head to head back in December of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 59-41 score last time.

Pocomoke's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Esham, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Esham scored a full 33.3% of Pocomoke's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Danae Dennis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 18 rebounds and six steals.

Pocomoke's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Colonel Richardson, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Pocomoke will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kent County at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Colonel Richardson will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Salisbury at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th.
