Basketball Recap: Melbourne Central Catholic Falls to Orlando Christian Prep in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Melbourne Central Catholic kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They were outmatched by the Orlando Christian Prep Warriors and fell 75-44. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Hustlers struggled afterwards.

Melbourne Central Catholic lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Michael Barna, who posted nine points and six rebounds. Terrence Shannon was another key player, putting up six points.

Orlando Christian Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mason Pandov out in front who went 8-for-11 to rack up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Theus, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 16 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Orlando Christian Prep has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Melbourne Central Catholic has already played their next contest, a 61-52 defeat against John Carroll Catholic on the 21st. As for Orlando Christian Prep, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Boone on December 3.
