St. Xavier entered their tilt with Holy Cross on Thursday with 22 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 23. They blew past the Cougars 3-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Patrick Nall paced St. Xavier's offense, picking up six kills. Nall got some help from Josh Walsh and his 28 assists. Walsh also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Paul Bryant, racking up two apiece.

St. Xavier's record is now 23-1. As for Holy Cross, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. St. Xavier will take on rival Trinity at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers are on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Shamrocks a three-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. Meanwhile, Holy Cross is set to square off against their familiar foe DuPont Manual at 6:30 p.m. on May 7.
