Volleyball Recap: Spanaway Lake Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Spanaway Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olympia Bears. The Sentinels were not able to make up for their loss to the Bears from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-12, 25-11.

Spanaway Lake's offense was headlined by Alexia Taliauli and Tofoi Gatoloai, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Aliana Siguaw and her ten assists. Finally, Emma Gatoloai kept Spanaway Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Spanaway Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Olympia, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Looking ahead, after both having extra time off, Spanaway Lake and Bethel will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Olympia, they will face off against Sumner at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
