Baseball Recap: Morrison Has No Trouble Against Polo

Morrison won the last time they faced Polo and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Marcos. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.

Morrison got a massive performance out of Collin Renkes, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jacob Reed, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Morrison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .634. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Morrison and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Polo, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Morrison will challenge Galena at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Polo, they will face off against West Carroll at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Marcos are facing the Thunder at the right time seeing as the Thunder are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
