Softball Recap: Coldspring-Oakhurst Has No Trouble Against Trinity

Coldspring-Oakhurst won the last time they faced Trinity and things went their way on Friday too. The Trojans blew past the Tigers 15-4. Considering the Trojans have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Camry Barton was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Murphy was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

Coldspring-Oakhurst hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.

Coldspring-Oakhurst is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Trinity, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-12.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Coldspring-Oakhurst is set to challenge their familiar foe Onalaska at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trinity will face off against rival Crockett at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
