Basketball Recap: Nine Straight Road Wins for St. John's

St. John entered their tilt with The Academy of the Holy Cross on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against The Academy of the Holy Cross Tartans by a score of 51-38. Given the Cadets' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in District of Columbia, while the Tartans are ranked 53rd in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. John's was led to victory by Morgan Stewart and Camille Nesmith. Stewart went 9 of 12 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals, while Nesmith went 5 for 6 on her way to 14 points and five boards. Stewart's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

St. John's victory was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.2 points per game. As for The Academy of the Holy Cross, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-13.

St. John's wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 84-45 win against St. Mary's Ryken on the 31st. The Academy of the Holy Cross has also already played their next match (against Our Lady of Good Counsel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
