Softball Recap: Waynesboro Takes a Loss

If Waynesboro was riding high fresh off their 29-15 takedown of Charlottesville on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Little Giants fell just short of the Riverheads Gladiators by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Little Giants in their meetings with the Gladiators: they've now lost seven in a row.

Waynesboro's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Riverheads, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

Looking ahead, Waynesboro will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Staunton at 5:30 p.m. The Little Giants are facing the Storm at the right time seeing as the Storm are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Riverheads, they will head out to take on Stonewall Jackson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Gladiators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
