Basketball Recap: Southeast Polk Comes Up Short

Southeast Polk lost against Ankeny Centennial back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The contest between the Southeast Polk Rams and the Ankeny Centennial Jaguars didn't end well, with the Southeast Polk Rams falling 62-47. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Jaguars are ranked eighth).

This is the second loss in a row for Southeast Polk and nudges their season record down to 9-12. As for Ankeny Centennial, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeast Polk will welcome Urbandale at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ankeny Centennial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Waukee on Tuesday. One thing working in Waukee's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
