Basketball Recap: Indianapolis Arsenal Technical Sets Scoring Season-High Against Tindley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indianapolis Arsenal Technical). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Tindley Tigers 88-57. The Titans have beaten the Tigers the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Salmone Mitchell out in front who went 5-for-8 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave Mitchell a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Bles'ed Thomas, who went 10-for-14 on his way to 21 points.

Tindley's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jordon 'Jett' Turner, who went 8-for-18 to rack up 21 points. Turner continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ajani Crayton, who posted 14 points.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's victory bumped their record up to 5-11. As for Tindley, their record is now 6-13.

Indianapolis Arsenal Technical and Tindley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. Indianapolis Arsenal Technical will take on Lafayette Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday down 138 places (166 vs. 28). Meanwhile, Tindley (ranked 352nd) will meet Indianapolis Crispus Attucks (ranked 26th) at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th.
