Prout faced Cranston East in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Crusaders blew past the Thunderbolts 3-0. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Thunderbolts recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Prout never let Cranston East on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-16, 25-18.

Evelyn McGuire paced Prout's offense, picking up five kills. McGuire got some help from Danica Caraway and her five assists. Caraway was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Prout's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Cranston East, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Prout is set to challenge their familiar foe Cranston West at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Cranston East will take on rival Classical at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
