Soccer Game Preview: Onalaska vs. Fort Vancouver

The Onalaska Loggers are taking a road trip to challenge the Fort Vancouver Trappers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Onalaska headed into their last contest having not scored more than one goal for three straight, but Kalama let them put that streak behind them. The Loggers were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Chinooks on Monday. Considering Onalaska's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Fort Vancouver made easy work of Stevenson on Tuesday and carried off a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for Fort Vancouver, who have now won seven games by three goals or more so far this season.

Fort Vancouver's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Onalaska, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Onalaska suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Fort Vancouver when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Loggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
