Basketball Recap: Clairemont Comes Up Short

Clairemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 66-58 to the Crawford Colts. The Chieftains were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Clairemont still got an impressive performance from Grant Rine, who posted 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Hank Wyman was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Clairemont smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive games.

It was another big night for Mickelson Laguerre, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds for Crawford. With that strong performance, Laguerre is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Tremell Jackson, who scored 11 points and six boards.

Clairemont's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Crawford, their victory bumped their record up to 12-3.

Clairemont has already played their next contest, a 75-51 defeat against Fallbrook on the 11th. As for Crawford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-50 win against Morse on the 14th.
