Basketball Game Preview: L.C. Bird Skyhawks vs. Midlothian Trojans

L.C. Bird is 8-2 against Midlothian since January of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The L.C. Bird Skyhawks will look to defend their home court against the Midlothian Trojans at 7:30 p.m. L.C. Bird will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, L.C. Bird didn't have too much trouble with Cosby as they won 54-37.

L.C. Bird found their leader in freshman Sasha Hodge, who posted 16 points and six steals. Hodge is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Brielle Comer was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Meanwhile, Midlothian came into Tuesday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They claimed a resounding 58-10 victory over Huguenot. The Trojans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

L.C. Bird's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points per game. As for Midlothian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Everything came up roses for L.C. Bird against Midlothian when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 56-22 win. Will L.C. Bird repeat their success, or does Midlothian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
