Recap: Hay Springs Hawks vs. Arthur County Wolves
Even though the Hay Springs Hawks have not done well against the Arthur County Wolves recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Hay Springs walked away with a 37-25 win over Arthur County. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hay Springs.
Hay Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mya Turman, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals. Gabby Twarling was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Arthur County still got an impressive performance from Jaedin Johns, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Johns scored a full 52% of Arthur County's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Hay Springs' win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Arthur County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Hay Springs will head out on the road to face off against Morrill on Tuesday. As for Arthur County, they will be playing at home against Creek Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Creek Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 50 on Saturday.
