Football Recap: D'iberville Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Ocean Springs + How To Watch

D'Iberville faced Ocean Springs in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warriors lost 42-21 to the Greyhounds. Despite 69 more yards than the Greyhounds, the Warriors couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

D'Iberville's loss came despite strong showings from Jordan Walley and Chan Harvey. Walley rushed for 201 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 carries, while Harvey rushed for 140 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Harvey got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 71 yards.

It was another big night for Solomon Baggett, who rushed for 235 yards and four scores while picking up 10.2 yards per carry for Ocean Springs. Baggett's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 108 rushing yards. Sharroid Whitehead did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, D'Iberville fell to 6-1. As for Ocean Springs, their win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. D'Iberville will take on St. Martin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Walley and Seth Crockett. As for Ocean Springs, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Harrison at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
