Softball Preview: Ponderosa Bruins vs. Oak Ridge Trojans        
        
		
            
 The Ponderosa Bruins will head out on the road to  face off against  the Oak Ridge Trojans at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Both teams come into the  game bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
 In what's become a running theme this season, Ponderosa gave their fans yet another huge  victory on Thursday. Everything went their way against Lincoln as Ponderosa made off with  a  12-2 win.
 Ponderosa let  Chase Mueller and  Brooklynn Nordquist loose on the outfield. Mueller  went 2-for-3 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and two  runs, while  Nordquist  went 2-for-4 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs.  Brynn Escobar was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile, Oak Ridge earned  a  7-2 victory over Folsom  on Thursday.
  Kennedi Freeland looked comfortable as she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive pitching appearances.
 On the hitting side, Oak Ridge let  Jess Szelenyi and  Brooklyn Paratore loose on the outfield. Szelenyi  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-4, while  Paratore  scored a  run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Gemma Almont, who  went 1-for-4 with a  triple, a  run,  and  an  RBI.
 Ponderosa's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-3. As for Oak Ridge, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won ten of their last 12 matches,  which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record  this season.
 Both  both teams just can't seem to miss. Ponderosa has been making plenty of contact this season,  having  averaged 10.9  hits per game. However, it's not like Oak Ridge struggles in that department as   they've been averaging  only 4.1. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Ponderosa skirted past Oak Ridge  5-4 in their previous meeting  back in March of 2023. Will Ponderosa repeat their success,  or does  Oak Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
