             Wekiva has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will head out to  take on the Jones Fightin' Tigers  at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
 Last Friday, Wekiva was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap  as they fell  20-16 to Apopka.
 Meanwhile, Jones put another one in the bag  on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Ocoee 14-0. The 14-point effort marked the Fightin' Tigers' lowest-scoring  contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
  Larry Miles was a one-man wrecking crew for Jones as he picked up 158 receiving yards and a touchdown.  Dereon Coleman was another key player, having thrown for 258 yards and onetouchdown.
 Jones pushed their record up to 9-0 with the  win, which was their fifth straight  on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 40.4 points per game. As for Wekiva, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
 Wekiva might still be hurting after the  68-47 defeat they got from Jones  when the teams last played  back in October of 2023. That  match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Wekiva was down  27-7.
