It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lincoln Christian had no problem doing just that on Monday. They put the hurt on the St. Paul/Palmer Wildcats with a sharp 8-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Crusaders in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.

Grant DeHaan made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Drew Mittan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Ian Brester was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Lincoln Christian's victory bumped their record up to 14-6. As for St. Paul/Palmer, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season.

Lincoln Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-1 win against Fort Calhoun on the 20th. St. Paul/Palmer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
