Basketball Game Preview: Hancock Central Bulldogs vs. Wilkinson County Warriors

Hancock Central and Wilkinson County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Hancock Central Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Wilkinson County Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hancock Central is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since February 9th last Saturday. They fell just short of Warren County by a score of 60-57. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Screaming Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the defeat, Hancock Central got top-tier performance from Josiah Ingram, who went 10 of 15 on his way to 26 points along with five boards and three steals. Ingram continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Harper, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson County posted their biggest win since February 2nd on Saturday. Everything went their way against Crawford County as Wilkinson County made off with a 69-49 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Warriors have posted against the Eagles since February 23, 2017.

Hancock Central's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Wilkinson County, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
