Volleyball Game Preview: Pleasant Grove Hawks vs. Farmersville Farmers

After both having extra time off, the Pleasant Grove Hawks and the Farmersville Farmers will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Pleasant Grove is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering North Lamar just ended the team's seven-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Pleasant Grove sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-18, 19-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-11.

Meanwhile, Farmersville narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Community 3-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Farmers.

Farmersville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 21-25, 25-13, 25-21, 15-13.

Farmersville's win bumped their record up to 29-12. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 25-12.
