Basketball Game Preview: Miami-Yoder Buffaloes vs. Evangel Christian Academy Eagles

Miami-Yoder hasn't had much luck against Evangel Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Buffaloes will take on the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Miami-Yoder came up short against Genoa-Hugo/Karval and fell 45-36.

Despite their defeat, Miami-Yoder saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jesus Cruz, who posted nine points and seven steals, was perhaps the best of all. Cruz has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Robert Book was another key player, putting up nine points and eight steals.

Meanwhile, Evangel Christian Academy played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against Simla, falling 79-44. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-20.

Miami-Yoder's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Evangel Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Miami-Yoder took a serious blow against Evangel Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, falling 60-27. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Buffaloes were down 29-2.
