Baseball Game Preview: Landon Bears vs. Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons

Landon has won eight straight games at home, while Our Lady of Good Counsel has won eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Bears will welcome the Falcons at 4:30 p.m. Landon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Landon had just enough and edged out Bullis 7-5.

The team relied heavily on Manny Monsalve, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Zach Burstein was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Good Counsel is ranked highly in their home state and on Tuesday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of St. John's. The Falcons lost 6-0 to the Cadets.

Our Lady of Good Counsel also got a good showing from Ryan Martin, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Martin has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

Landon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Landon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Our Lady of Good Counsel struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
