Baseball Recap: Mazama Comes Up Short

Mazama made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hidden Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Vikings fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The Vikings just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Mazama got a good showing from Silas Kapitan, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kapitan has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Mason Snell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Mazama's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Hidden Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

While Mazama had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
