Soccer Game Preview: West Carteret vs. Richlands

The West Carteret Patriots will take on the Richlands Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Richlands took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on West Carteret, who comes in off a win.

West Carteret's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They came out on top against Croatan by a score of 2-0. West Carteret's winning goal came courtesy of Sasha Baker.

Meanwhile, Richlands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Dixon. While losing is never fun, Richlands can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Dixon are ranked 19th).

West Carteret's win bumped their record up to 6-8-3. As for Richlands, they now have a losing record of 9-10-1.

West Carteret might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Richlands in their previous meeting on April 3rd. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Patriots were down 3-0.
