Softball Recap: Vernon Hills Takes a Loss

Buffalo Grove hit Vernon Hills with a four-run fifth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars fell just short of the Bison by a score of 6-5. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

This is the second loss in a row for Vernon Hills and nudges their season record down to 8-19. As for Buffalo Grove, they pushed their record up to 10-11 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Vernon Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland Park at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Buffalo Grove, they will venture away from home to challenge Prospect at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
