Basketball Recap: Joppatowne Comes Up Short

Joppatowne extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-11. They fell 61-54 to the Fallston Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Cougars are ranked 88th).

As for Fallston, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points over those games.

Fallston got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aiden Robinson out in front who almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Robinson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played. Shaughn Kelly was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.

Joppatowne has already played their next contest (against Rising Sun), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Fallston, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-47 win against Perryville on the 11th.
