Baseball Recap: Boonville Takes a Loss

Boonville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Vincennes Lincoln Alices. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Alices when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Boonville's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Boonville will take on Heritage Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for Vincennes Lincoln, they have already played their next match, a 7-5 win against Mt. Vernon on the 24th.
