League recap: Fellowship Christian rises in state rank

Fellowship Christian moved up to 307 from 353 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 6B. The Paladins climbed the ranks as a result of beating Whitefield Academy 38-33.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Mount Pisgah Christian beat Walker 47-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Patriots.

Hunter Bryant threw for 320 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 12-21 with 0 interceptions.

Jack Wise made the biggest impact on defense this week as Fellowship Christian beat the Wolfpack. He recorded 1 fumble.

Bryant put up the best numbers through the air as Al Morrell's team topped Whitefield Academy. Bryant's favorite target this week was Alex Edmonds, who caught 5 passes for 147 yards.

The Paladins' Bryant and Edmonds led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Bryant has thrown for 848 yards this season, while Edmonds has 22 catches for 410 yards. David Brittingham from North Cobb Christian leads the league in rushing with 436 yards.

One of A Region 6B's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Fellowship Christian and the Wolverines face off next week.

The Paladins are in third place, while Walker is in fifth place.

The league will see a high scoring game when Fellowship Christian and John East's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Paladins comes in having scored 166 this season, while the Wolverines have scored 77. Fellowship Christian scored 38 points last week as it defeated Jimmy Fields' team.

St. Francis took down Cross Keys 55-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
