Baseball Game Preview: King's Fork Bulldogs vs. Heritage Hurricanes

The King's Fork Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Heritage Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Heritage took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on King's Fork, who comes in off a win.

King's Fork was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Southampton, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Woodside, falling 22-2.

Devin Gray was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ja'Son Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for King's Fork, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

King's Fork took their victory against Heritage in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-9 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
