Basketball Recap: Tennyson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Millennium on Friday, Tennyson came back down to earth. The Tennyson Lancers had to suffer through a 75-47 loss at the hands of the Kimball Jaguars. If the Lancers were looking for revenge after losing 83-39 to them when the teams met on Saturday, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lance Clunie, who posted 23 points. The match was Clunie's third in a row with at least ten points. James Walker was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 19 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Tennyson was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive games.

Tennyson has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Kimball, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-6.

Tennyson and Freedom will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Kimball, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Kimball Jaguars face off against the Modesto Panthers at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
