Basketball Game Preview: North Putnam Cougars vs. Northview Knights

The North Putnam Cougars will take on the Northview Knights in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Putnam has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Northview will come in with four straight victories.

Last Friday, North Putnam was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Sullivan. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Northview got the win against West Vigo on Friday by a conclusive 59-35.

North Putnam's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Northview, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

North Putnam came up short against Northview in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 52-44. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Northview's Brayden Goff, who went 9 for 16 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists.
