Football Recap: Woodlawn Comes Up Short

Woodlawn fell victim to Franklin and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 21-0 to the Indians. The Warriors lost against the Indians in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 55-0 score last time.

Even if they lost, Woodlawn's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Ernest Witherspoon was especially locked on to Franklin's QB and sacked him twice.

The critical scores for Franklin came from Korbin Gilbert, James Joseph, and Nevin Conney.

This is the second loss in a row for Woodlawn and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Franklin, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlawn will challenge Owings Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Golden Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Franklin, they will take on Milford Mill Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Millers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
