Recap: Central Bobcats vs. Fairfax Stampede
The Central Bobcats lost against the Fairfax Stampede back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Central fell 56-49 to Fairfax. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Central in their matchups with Fairfax: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Central still got an impressive performance from Lia Sims, who scored 34 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That was a full 69.4% of Central's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shakeira Mosley, who scored two points along with three steals.
Central has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Fairfax, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Central will head out on the road to face off against McClintock at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McClintock has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 183 points over their last three matchups. As for Fairfax, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. Sierra Linda is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
