Eagle Pass suffers 13th straight loss at home

The Eagle Pass Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by United 97-30. While losing is never fun, Eagle Pass can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1148th, while United is ranked 131st).

United got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alejandra Idrogo out in front who went 10 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Idrogo has scored all season. Emily Escamilla was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.

Eagle Pass dropped their record down to 3-17 with that defeat, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. As for United, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Eagle Pass will head out on the road to challenge Laredo LBJ at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Laredo LBJ comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for United, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Del Rio at 7:00 p.m.
