Basketball Game Preview: Hillsboro Indians vs. Miami Trace Panthers

The Hillsboro Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Trace Panthers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Hillsboro sitting on three straight victories and Miami Trace on ten.

Hillsboro is headed into the match after thoroughly thrashing Adena: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Hillsboro blew Adena out of the water with a 70-20 final score. The Indians pushed the score to 61-13 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors had no chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Miami Trace challenged Circleville on Saturday. Miami Trace came out on top against Circleville by a score of 51-43. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Tigers are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Miami Trace's win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. As for Hillsboro, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Hillsboro ended up a good deal behind Miami Trace in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, losing 59-40. Can Hillsboro avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
