Soccer Game Preview: Coal Ridge vs. Basalt + How To Watch

The Coal Ridge Titans will face off against the Basalt Longhorns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Basalt took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Coal Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Coal Ridge barely beat Middle Park the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans never let the Panthers get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Saturday. Considering Coal Ridge have won eight matches by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Basalt fell victim to Steamboat Springs and their airtight defense on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sailors. While losing is never fun, Basalt can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Steamboat Springs are ranked 29th).

Coal Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine matchups. As for Basalt, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7-2.

Coal Ridge took their win against Basalt in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Titans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Longhorns turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
